A little bit of craziness becomes A LOT of craziness

In the last few weeks we have had some super fun things going on, as well as some stressful life changes that we're working on adjusting to. We were fortunate to have Jon and Ben stop by our place during Jon's midwestern tour of the summer. The kids enjoyed every minute with them. They struggled with adjusting to them being gone after their visit was over.

We drove over to Jeremy's dad's for a family gathering and were fortunate to see all of his half-siblings who we haven't seen for quite some time. The kids had a ton of fun hanging out with the kids and enjoying the fresh air outdoors.

This past Wednesday I returned back to work after my extended maternity leave. It has been an emotional roller coaster that I wasn't able to prepare myself for. We've been fortunate to find a great gal to come into our house and care for the kids when both Jeremy and I are at work. The kids have already become attached to her after only having her here one day so far. They have asked for her to come over each day since then. I'm hoping our crazy hectic life, doesn't scare her away because she's awesome and the kids love her.

To add to the back to work stress, we ended up with a flu bug in our house yesterday into today that created an unnecessary amount of stress to an already busy day. The washer and drier have been running pretty much non-stop for the past 36 hours (running sheets through twice and all other effected dirty laundry), I have cleaned poop and puke up off the floor numerous times and slept for a total of about 5 hours with Elijah by my side on the couch. Needless to say I woke with a back ache and have been running on empty most of the day. Elijah woke this morning seeming to feel better and hasn't had any other symptoms all day long. At this point he is the only one with troubles and we're hoping to keep it that way.

We're looking forward to the next 2 days off with both Jeremy and I and hope to catch Cars2 during that time. We haven't succeeded at getting all the things done on my "to-do" list, so we should probably take some time to check some things off of it.

Road Trip:

We took a road trip to the cities to visit Steve, Tina their kids and Jon and Ben. Alex had fun playing with the Mr. Potato head pieces while we were driving, Elijah and Abbi slept. While in the cities we went to a train depot and walked through their museum. The kids had fun checking out the features of the old trains and enjoyed posing for some pictures. After the museum we headed to Chuck E Cheese to get supper and play some games with the kids. We split up our tokens between the kids and each kid took an adult to play games with.
