A Hike to "Outer Space!"

A couple of weeks ago Grandma and Papa came up and went on a picnic with us to 7 mile creek park. We spent time at the playground (where all Alex wanted to do was swing) and then headed out into the woods to walk. While walking we found a sign that said horse trail and scenic overlook. The scenic overlook sounded appealing so we headed up the steep hills to see what it had to offer. Alex kept referring to our destination as 'outer space' since he was currently on a Buzz Lightyear fix. We didn't realize at the bottom, how steep the climb was, but felt that once we'd gone halfway, we might as well finish. When we reached the top, expecting our scenic overlook to be right there, we found that there was another path to the scenic overlook that we would never be able to make with a stroller. At that point we turned around and discovered that going down wasn't much easier than going up with a stoller. Needless to say, once we reached the bottom, we were quite thankful to have made it.

Thank goodness we had our fearless map reader leading us out of the woods!

The hill was much worse than the picture looks!

An idea of how steep the hill was.

Needless to say, the hike wasn't rough on Alex because he was carried the whole way! (beginning of walk)

End of walk (does Daddy look tired?)
