We drove down to pick him up on Sunday in the afternoon, with one goal in mind: enjoying the weather and getting to enjoy a fall festival before the season was over. Goal accomplished! We had heard about this orchard through family and friends. It was quite reasonable for the activities they had available. He went on a barrel ride (twice), a hayride, sat on a pony (they wanted $3 to have him trot around on it, I don't think so!), fed goats, went down a gigantic slide, jumped on an air castle and played in some crooked houses. We ended the activity with some popcorn and strawberry milk.
We were fortunate to get some time in with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Janssen and Lisa and Dale, when we went to their house for supper. On our way to Grandma's house (this is what he calls Grandma and Papa's house, I guess Papa needs to be home more for it to be considered his house too!) we were able to stop in the field to visit Uncle Mike as well as Great Grandma Ev and Tyler. The combine had broken down so the machinery was turned off and quiet. Alex took advantage of the silence and took a tour of the combine and the tractor. Sadly, Papa was hauling a load of beans in at the time, so we missed seeing him.
We took tons of pictures, but only about half of them turned out. Sorry for the picture overload! It was a busy day with tons of stuff packed into a short time.

Thanks for the comment you left on my blog. Marriage and family are indeed my biggest blessings. I had so much fun looking at all the pictures of the boys! What cuties!
Be blessed this Monday morning!
