Family Update

We have been busy nonstop since Elijah was born. The week after he was born, we frequented the doctor for Alex. He was supposed to have tubes put in his ears that Wednesday, but throughout the weekend after Elijah was born we saw an increase in nasal discharge and coughing, then his his began to turn pink with a little mattery discharge, we took him in the day before the scheduled surgery to see if there was anything we could do for him. Our doctor canceled the surgery for the next day and asked that we call to reschedule and put him on an antibiotic for 2 weeks.

Tomorrow is our scheduled surgery and the plan is to complete the surgery as scheduled. We had a pre-op physical this morning where he was given the go-ahead! We are scheduled to arrive at the surgery center at 7:15 tomorrow morning (earlier than we've been up in a LONG time); Alex, Elijah and myself will do it! We look forward to seeing Alex with full relief in his ears, and wonder how his behavior will differ.

This week Jeremy returned to work after taking 2 weeks off from work to ease into our life as a family of four. We have had a blast having him home and all of us are missing him at home, but we love having him home at 12:30 for the day! He's definitely finding that he needs to make some adjustments to his sleep schedule and we look forward to the time that we can get all of that figured out!

While at our appt for Alex today, the NP offered to weigh Elijah, being he isn't going into the doctor for another week, I gladly took her up on it. He weighed in at 11 pounds 11 ounces!! Awesome news for a nursing mother!

We returned home to our leftover buns from baptism gone! Our dogs had managed to pull them down from the counter and eat them all!! GRR I was angry. I disciplined them by yelling and slapped Bear on the nose, Alex looked at me almost in tears and said, "Mommy, be nice to Bear!" We called Grandma to tell her how big Elijah was and he was certain to tell her that Mommy hit Bear. Always an adventure in our house!!

Alex showing Daddy how to play the game, "No, Daddy do this."

Showing off his clown nose we created with the paint his cousin Bennett gave to him. He loves it!! Thank you!
